'Eclipse' News Roundup: Three 'Twilight' Showings, An Edward And Bella Ornament And New Banners
News relating to "The Twilight Saga" never rests, not even on weekends or in honor of the "Lost" series finale. However, we do, so here's a quick round up of some of the exciting things that have been announced over the past few days that we ignored for the sake of a mysterious island somewhere in the Pacific and our own sanity.
First and foremost, AMC has upped the "Eclipse" midnight excitement level by three: Now they have announced that they will be having triple showings of "Twilight" and "New Moon" leading up to the June 30 release of "Eclipse" for $30. This isn't the first time this has happened, but in addition to getting to see all three movies in theaters for way cheaper than the price of three separate tickets, people who buy the package will also get a $10 AMC gift card (so it's more like paying $20 for the triple screening) and a "commemorative event-style lanyard, while supplies last."
Since we know "Eclipse" midnight release tickets have been on sale for a while, AMC is offering an out for those who have already made a reservation and is allowing them to go to the theater they bought the ticket from and upgrade to "The Twilight Experience," and only have to pay the difference. Sounds like AMC is the hostess with the mostess for this release. Here's their link to participating theaters.
On a slightly more comical note, Hallmark has released some info about their 2010 "Edward and Bella" Hallmark Keepsake Ornament, which will be available starting July 10 at Hallmark stores for $14.95. Because you can never be too ready for Christmas — not even when it's still seven months away!
Back on the exciting news front, Summit has also released their character banners for "Eclipse," and they are so much cooler than the ones we got for "New Moon."
The Volturi and newborns/Riley look totally badass (though for the newborns this isn't much different than the shots we've seen of them in the trailers), and the Cullens, for once, actually look like sexy, intimidating Vampires in their character posters. Though what is up with Ashley Greene's token neck arch and Jackson Rathbone's evil eye? At least Robert Pattinson looks good.
Poor Kristen Stewart has a banner all to herself, and she looks like she's in some sort of hypothermic or drug-induced coma. Her hair looks better than it does in the trailers, but we aren't sure why her face is so blank. The banner of her, Rob and Taylor Lautner, on the other hand, is a bit more ominous.
