Did you and Rob collaborate with David for the scene?

We had a rehearsal on set that morning to try some things, but finally David decided we would do the whole scene while making love, and all in one take which was quite a challenge. My first career was as a dancer, where you rehearse for 8 weeks before stepping onstage. Now, I'm always amazed at how much we as actors have to bring to the table, and be ready to improvise, and how fast the director has to think on his feet to orchestrate it all.

It would have been tempting to have wine before the scene! One of the first film acting jobs I ever had was laced with highly erotic content, and I was young, naive, and an absolute prude. To get through the love scenes they had to ply me with red wine and the director promised me, on the life of her children, that I wouldn't be ashamed of the result. She was an angel, and in hindsight, the scene was very tame. The relationship of an actor to a director is crucial, you have to put all of your faith in their vision, so what made the intimacy in Cosmopolis really easy for me was that I trusted David completely. Rob was a sweetheart as well, very supportive and very professional. From a holistic standpoint, to mentally prepare for an intense day on set, deep breathing saves me every time, as well as a mantra not to judge myself positively or negatively, just to be. "Express, don't impress" is my aspiration.

Fast forward 20 years and now you are making huge movies. After Spider there were a few and then A Dangerous Method and Cosmopolis with Robert Pattinson.

I think it was great for us and the movie that Rob was interested in making that type of move at this time. I think he is great in the movie and he will bring a new type of audience to David’s world.

What’s next for the ever evolving Martin Katz?

I have two things that I am excited about. I am working on my fourth collaboration with David Cronenberg called Maps To The Stars. It is an absurdist comedy about the entertainment business. We hope to be able to work with many of the people we have worked with before including Rob Pattinson.

Sarah Gadon Mentions Robert with Real Style Magazine

If Sarah's critically acclaimed role as the wife of Fassbender's Carl Jung got the industry's attention, her second Cronenberg role as Robert Pattinson's wife in Cosmopolis cemented her rising star status. Not only did a second collaboration with Cronenberg mean she'd joined the ranks of the director's Jeremy Irons and Vincent Cassel, she became the focus of the Twihard sets' curiousity when she got close to Pattinson on screen.

"I kept mt distance, knowing that there might be backlash," says Sarah of working opposite Pattinson whose Twilight fan-base is comparable to Beatle mania or Bieber Fever. "Caitlin, David's daughter, received more backlash because she was tweeting a lot of photographs from the set, and people were speculationg about their relationship and proximity. I think too that I kept such a distance that they thought, 'We're not going to find anything with this one! We'll pin it all on that one!' It's terrible that that happens too. It's terrible for him because I take my work seriously, obviously, and so does he. It's not like you would ever compromise the integrity of your work by doing something... at least I never would. I'm boring that way."

Next up in Sarah's non-traditional career is a role in Oscar-nominated French Canadian director Dennis Villeneuve's first English-language film, An Enemy, opposite to Jake Gyllenhaal, Mélanie Laurent, and Isabella Rossellini. The film tells a story of a man, played by Jake, who leaves his mistress to fall back in love with his wife, played by Sarah. Having Jake Gyllenhaal as her third major on-screen husband after Fassbender and Pattinson isn't so bad, I joke.

"I only accept rich, famous actors as my husbands," laughs Sarah

Although cozying up to Fassbender, Pattinson and Gyllenhaal would definitely be a perk to most people, their heartthrob statuses seem irrelevant to Sarah. In fact, she seems more excited to her co-stars to join her in the art-house realm than anything else. When I suggest that Pattinson's work with Cronenberg has helped change the path of his career from teen heartthrob to bonafide actor, Sarah agrees. "Yes," she says with a smile. "Now he's going to work with Werner Herzog."

Peter Jackson’s first Hobbit movie may not have gotten much love from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, but the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy, & Horror Films saw things differently, lavishing the fantasy epic with nine Saturn Award nominations today. The awards, now in their 39th year, honor the best genre films, TV shows, and home entertainment. They’ll be presented in June, though the ceremony’s exact date and location have yet to be announced.

Where you familiar with Don DeLillo’s novel?

No. Nut I had read a few of his other novels. First I read the script that David Cronenberg sent me and then the novel. One is incredibly faithful to the other, in a way that it seems impossible, for a novel that seemed impossible to adapt. But even before reading the book, what I was most impressed was the tension without release and the fast rhythm of the script.

What caught your attention the most about the movie?

Cronenberg, obviously. I’ve acted in other movies and non of them reached the level of what I expected working with him would be. He did not disappoint… I knew that it would be very creative and that it would be an authentic experience. And I was also very attracted to the prose in the script, similar to a long poem. And a mysterious poem too. Usually, when you read a script, you know very quickly what is it about, where is it going, how will it end; even if there are unexpected or sophisticated twists, or plot inversions. But this time it was completely different, the more I read, the least I could imagive where was it going and I wanted to be part of it even more. It can no be boxed in any movie genre, it stands as it’s own.

Rob：I was almost all the time in the limo all by myself and David stays outside of the car. It was a bit odd at the beginning but you can’t rely on someone else about acting. And David is very sensitive about the actors trying to do; looked like he was looking for a something interesting out of it. I felt very comfortable about it.

Rob：Other casts come and visit the limo and do the uncomfortable act right in front of me siting very comfortable. It was like watching their acting plan in the way, I liked it very much!
