Film vampire 'just a regular guy'
Robert Pattinson can't understand why he was recently named one of the world's most influential people.
The actor was bestowed the accolade by Time magazine, receiving a mention in their annual 100 Most Influential People list. He still finds it hard to understand why people think he is so important, claiming he is just a regular guy doing a job he loves.
The 24-year-old was also mentioned in People magazine's Most Beautiful People list, an honour he is more comfortable with.
"It just seems completely ridiculous," he replied, when US talk show host Oprah Winfrey asked him which accolade was more important to him.
"Definitely Most Beautiful. I have no reason to influence people. I just want someone to pat me on the back. Three years ago, I wouldn't be able to influence my dog to walk."
Robert appeared on the programme alongside his Twilight co-stars Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner. Kristen was incredibly nervous, revealing she often gets tongue-tied in front of fans because she doesn't want to disappoint them.
The 20-year-old also admitted she feels a deep bond with Bella Swan, her character in the vampire movies, as they are so similar. "Most people's favourite book is not a part of their lives," she explained.
"I feel like I've brought more of myself to Bella than any other character. I can also completely relate to the fact that she's totally awkward, but that she owns it and she's not going to say anything she doesn't mean.
"This means a lot to you guys, and it's the same deal for me. I understand that your words have weight and I mince them when I know that everybody's waiting for them, you know what I mean?"
Taylor is famed for the physique he sports in the films, with his bulging biceps and ripping abdominal muscles winning him hordes of female fans. He has previously said he worked out hard to achieve the look, but revealed to Oprah he actually had to carry meat patties with him at all times so he always had something to snack on.
