'Eclipse' MasterCard Debit Cards: Collect Them All!
Want to spend your hard-earned money on "Eclipse" merchandise, but sad there's no customized, "Twilight"-approved currency option available for Twihards such as yourself? Well, be sad no longer — Summit Entertainment has signed a deal with "teen finance solution" MYPLASH Prepaid Cards (works the same way as a gift card!) to create a licensed series of reloadable, prepaid gift cards emblazoned with "Eclipse" images. Now you can buy "Twilight"-branded merchandise WITH a piece of "Twilight"-branded merchandise!
The cards, which will be available to purchase on the MYPLASH site, come in nine different styles: two varieties of the "Twilight" trinity (Trio Far and Trio Close), solo shots of Edward, Bella, Jacob, and Rosalie (yes, random — she's the only other Cullen with her own card), the three Volturi men (Felix, Alec, and Demetri — no Jane! — Volturi Group, officially), the entire Cullen Group (including Edward), and the entire Wolf Pack Family (including Leah Clearwater and Emily).
While the press release promises "exclusive online merchandise, discounts, and content," there are a few things you will not be able to buy with your brand new "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" MYPLASH Prepaid MasterCard...
Namely:
- A lock of Robert Pattinson's hair
- Opening night tickets to see "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" (the cards don't come out until July 1)
- A diploma from Forks High School
- A date with Taylor Lautner
- Kristen Stewart's life
In all seriousness, though, learning financial responsibility is an extremely important thing every teenager should do, and it seems that these cards will come with tools to track purchases and budget money. Let's just hope that using a credit card with a a hot guy on it doesn't make it easier to be an impulse shopper!
