R-Pattz for Oscar success?

R-Pattz for Oscar success?

Robert Pattinson's new film 'Water For Elephants' already creating Oscar buzz

Hollywood heartthrob Robert Pattinson is reportedly being tipped for Academy Award success for his role in his recently finished film, 'Water For Elephants'.

The 24-year-old 'Twilight' star, who completed the movie last month [pictured on set] and is currently preparing to begin on the latest vampire installment, 'Breaking Dawn', plays a veterinary student called Jacob Jankowski who drops out of college to work as a vet for a travelling circus.

It's here that he meets and falls in love with a circus performer played by Reese Witherspoon, who he attempts to protect from her abusive husband.

The film also stars Oscar-winner Christoph Waltz, who won Best Supporting Actor this year for his role in 'Inglourious Basterds'.

Waltz spoke of R-Patz and his talent during a recent interview, saying:

"[The Oscar] It's in my house, but the way things are looking, I might have to hand it off to Rob next year!”

Meanwhile, the author of 'Water For Elephants' Sarah Gruen has also been singing the actor's praises, telling The Dallas Morning Star:

"I think Robert Pattinson is really going to shine in that role. He’s so dedicated, This was a rough-and-tumble shoot, and when I was there on the set, he’d be lying in the dirt for 18 straight takes in a row, and he would nail every single one."
