Robert Pattinson wants smaller films

Robert Pattinson would love to concentrate on independent movies but worries if he did he could be "unemployed for ten years".

The 24-year-old hunk is best known for playing vampire Edward Cullen in the Twilight movie franchise, based on the best-selling novels of Stephenie Meyer.

His career choices so far have been predominantly mainstream, although the artistic soul is keen to venture into smaller, more obscure cinema. His only fear is if he does that he may struggle financially as there are fewer jobs in low-budget movies, and they are also less well paid.

"You can say I only do small movies, but then there is a chance you might not be employed for ten years," he told the British edition of OK! magazine.

Robert sometimes feels under pressure when he shoots films as he knows people are expecting big things from him. The dreamy star admits being in the public eye can have its advantages though, as his fame has opened many doors to him.

"Now it feels a lot more pressured and there's nothing but negative aspects of having pressure when you're trying to act. It's quite difficult in that situation...You want to take control of [fame] all the time and it's impossible. It's nice sometimes. You do get kind of paranoid, but it allows me to do the films I want to do," he explained.
