She's only been a star for eight years but Kristen Stewart has gone from cute child star playing Jodie Foster's daughter in the Panic Room at 12, to a sultry superstar at 20, thanks to the Twilight Saga. Here's K-Stew's beauty transformation from cool skater girl to glamorous leading lady.

2002
Aw, how cute? Given a starring role in the award-winning film Panic Room, Kristen attends the premiere aged just 12, fresh-faced and with a simple bob of natural, mousy-brown hair.

2003
Just a year later at the Cold Creek Manor premiere, Kristen was coming in to her own with longer, auburn locks and a little natural-look make-up.

2005
Is that Kristen Stewart? At the Tribeca Film Festival Kristen went all Californian with long, wavy honey-blonde hair and golden skin – lush!

2005
A quick change and looking way more like the Bella she was to become, with straightened, layered dark locks and dewy make-up.

2005
We reckon this is one of her best looks yet, auburn hair with a natural wave, neutral eyes and bright red lippy – it’s a perfect example of easy sophisticated style without loads of effort.

2007
We LOVE this look. Kristen can totally do blonde, even light blonde. This artfully messy up-do show off the plethora of lightened shades in her hair, and the gleaming, golden lined eyes are just perfect. Does she remind you a little of Alicia Silverstone?

2007
Fast forward a month and at the What Just Happened premiere, Kristen Stewart's style was swiftly falling into place. The loose locks and smoky eyes would quickly become a K-Stew signature.

2008
Just before Twilight erupted into the huge international phenomenon we know and love, Kristen sported a sunny look at the MTV Movie Awards with rich, russet layers and hardly any make-up – just natural and smiley, aw!

2008
Super-sexy! Is this vampire chic at its best? With THAT supernatural stare, smudgy eyes and loosely, tousled hair, Kristen positively smoulders in this publicity shot for the Twilight Saga.

2008
At the LA premiere of Twilight, Kristen looked angelic with a curly, cherubic up-do, rosebud pink lips and cheeks, and blue metallic eye shadow smudged all round the upper and lower lashes – beautiful.

2009
On the NBC Today show to promote the Twilight Saga, Kristen takes her inspiration straight from the catwalk with a straightened high ponytail and a little height around the crown, teamed with neutral make-up.

2009
Smokin! Kristen was rockin’ red way before Cheryl Cole. At the UK premier of Twilight, Kristen kept her base matte, her lips neutral and her eyes smoky shades of silver and grey.

2009
Working a rainbow of red shades, from aubergine to chestnut, Kristen lets her hair do the talking, with a tousled ‘do and barely-there make-up.

2009
OMG! Kristen proves that ladylike is a look she can pull off. At the premier of Adventureland in LA, Kristen highlighted her green eyes with a frosted moss-green eye shadow, dewy base, strong brows and matte, red lips – such a good look, K-Stew!

2009
Deep down we know that Kristen is a rock chick, and here she is at the MTV Movie Awards showing her true rock ‘n roll edge with bed-head hair and smudgy eyes.

2009
We’re not sure where Joan Jett begins and Kristen Stewart end. At the Comic Con convention in San Diego, Kristen answered fans’ questions looking uncannily like the 70s rocker. Kristen sported dark, choppy layers and a big, teased fringe with just a smudge of eye make-up.

2009
We want those lashes! A doe-eyed beauty with long, curled lashes and choppy, layered jet-black hair at the Paris premier of New Moon, ooh la la!

2009
A cute elfin crop! Or is it? Kristen’s hair had just been snipped to play Joan Jett in the film The Runaways, but instead of showing us her new ‘do, K-Stew pinned up her hair and teased the fringe forward, making us wait for the flim to see her newly shorn locks.

2009
OK, let’s be honest, Kristen is working with a difficult haircut here. Post-filming The Runaways, and still growing out her Joan Jett mullet cut for the film, Kristen works a little wave and a teased, bouffant fringe. She scores mega beauty points for the bronze eye shadow, which brings out her gorgeous green eyes.

2009
A rough up-do and slick of Cleopatra-style black eye liner is all K-Stew needed for the screening of New Moon in New York.

2009
After having her hair chopped into razored layers for her role as Joan Jett in The Runaways, Kristen Stewart went a little more rock ‘n roll with blue-black streaks and a sweeping fringe. Slate grey and terracotta eye shadow maxed-up the rock attitude. We’re sure Joan would approve!

2009
The Bella of the ball at the 82nd Academy Awards in LA, Kristen went for a soft, teased up-do, midnight blue, smoky eyes – matching her off-the-shoulder, ruched dress and the rosy tones on her lips and cheeks.

2010
Wearing sexy, backcombed high-hair, rosy cheeks and lush lashes, Kristen sports one of her most grown-up looks to date at The Runaways premiere in Los Angeles.

2010
WOW! We loved this daring look that Kristen tried at the The Runaways premier in New York. The hot fuchsia lipstick really perks up her complexion and highlights her rich, dark chocolate hue.

2010
At the über-fashionable 2010 Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala, Kristen opted for old Hollywood glamour with wet-look hair styled into retro rolls and beautiful bronze eye make-up.

2010
Rocking glam make-up and a teased, high ponytail, Kristen looked every inch the teen queen at the MTV Movie Awards in LA, where she and R-Patz teased us with THAT kiss.

2010
Scoring clever beauty points, Kristen sported her usual dark eye make-up but worked a little silver shimmer in the inner corner of her eyes to open them up, keeping the look light and modern.

2010
At the LA premiere of The Twilight Saga Eclipse, Kristen upped the ante with a super-sophisticated look. She teamed a one-shoulder beaded mini dress with a neat up-do and shimmery, metallic eyes.

2010
We all went crazy when this picture dropped into our inboxes. Possibly the most gorgeous hairstyle Kristen has ever worn. Her newly layered, honey-highlighted hair was pinned up, and the front and sides swept over then twisted into an on-trend braid. And check out the metallic pink eyes – trend alert!

2010
Arriving at the NBC Today Show, K-Stew’s schedule is clearly keeping her up – or could it be Robert Pattinson keeping her awake? But Kristen’s signature sultry eyes still rock, and we love her tousled red hair.

2010
A total about-turn for K-Stew as she attends a screening of Welcome To The Rileys, with flawless base, dark, smudgy eyes and perfect velvet red lips. It’s clear that Kristen Stewart is one of the most beautiful leading ladies, no wonder Edward fell for Bella!
