Five Potential Golden Globe Award Shockers

Five Potential Golden Globe Award Shockers

Natalie Portman, Annette Bening, Colin Firth, and either this one (The Social Network) or that one (The King's Speech).

Sure, you're prepared for the inevitable to happen at Sunday's Golden Globes, but are you prepared for the potential upsets and unexpected Robert Pattinson developments?

After you read our round-up of possible shocker, you'll be ready for anything:

1. Burlesque and The Tourist split votes, clearing the path to victory for The Kids Are All Right: The shock here would not be that Kids wins Best Musical or Comedy. The shock would be that this is the scenario that delivers it the trophy. Unshockingly, both Burlesque and especially The Tourist are expected to draw more Ricky Gervais digs than ballot support.

2. The Fighter's Christian Bale gets decked: By Geoffrey Rush (The King's Speech) in the Supporting Actor category, that is. The UK odds site Value Checker is betting on this (modest) upset.

3. Someone, somewhere makes a plan to go see Barney's Version and/or Casino Jack: This, if either Paul Giamatti or Kevin Spacey squeaks by Alice in Wonderland's Johnny Depp in the all-screwy Musical or Comedy Actor category, and thereby introduces Americans to each's no-profile art-house flick.

4. Mila Kunis makes the Globes fun—in a good way: Forget Pia Zadora cheesiness. Wouldn't it be cool if a good young actress blew by her Supporting Actress elders, including odds-on-favorite Melissa Leo from The Fighter? It sure would, and while conventional wisdom says the Black Swan star has no shot, the Globes has never exactly been governed by conventional wisdom.

5. Someone, somewhere tunes in to the show to see the awards—and not presenters Pattinson, Zac Efron, Justin Bieber and—yea!—comeback kid Michael Douglas: Yeah, right. And Depp'll win for The Tourist...
