Kristen Stewart Talks ‘Twilight’ Money & Fame

Kristen Stewart Talks ‘Twilight’ Money & Fame

Kristen Stewart loves her throngs of “Twilight” fans – but it’s the character Bella, not Kristen herself, who the legions of fans are really fawning over, at least according to the actress.

“Masses of girls identified with Bella in a really profound way, for want of a better word,” Kristen said in a new interview for the February issue of Vogue, which features her on the cover. “The connection that I’ve seen people have . . . I’ve seen it physically. It’s the characters they’re flipping for.”

Whether it’s Kristen or Bella the Twi-hards are going crazy for, it’s the 20-year-old big screen beauty who must bear the brunt of the adoration.

“There’s no way to eloquently put this,” she told the mag. “I just can’t go to the mall. It bothers me that I can’t be outside very often. And also to not ever be just ‘some girl’ again. Just being some chick at some place, that’s gone.”

Don’t take it the wrong way. K-Stew isn’t complaining about the global superstardom which Bella has bestowed upon her. After all, it’s also brought a flood of something else – money, something which she said she doesn’t take lightly.

“It’s funny when you are endowed not only with public recognition on a [expletive] seriously vast level, but also money,” she added. “Like, fund. Anytime I hear that somebody’s really rich, the first question is ‘Do you do anything with it? Or do you, like, chill? You just sit on it?’”

As it turns out, Kristen does have a plan for her newfound fortune (or at least, part of it) – she wants to set up a network of halfway houses to help those who are struggling get back on their feet – a cause Kristen saw first-hand while researching for a role as a runaway from a sex slave trafficking ring, according to Vogue.

“That would be amazing,” she continued. “Right now it’s the thing I feel most connected to.”

When it comes to other roles she’s had the opportunity to dive into, Kristen is hopeful her career won’t be forever pigeon-holed by her time spent as her vampire-loving big screen doppelganger.

“At this point it seems like, ‘We’ll see what the ‘Twilight’ girl did. Let’s see how she’s trying to be different,’” she conceded.
