Pattinson Is A Misogynist D**k In "Bel Ami"
Robert Pattinson says his upcoming film "Bel Ami" is going to be a very hard sell because his character is such a dick.
Based on the book by Guy de Maupassant, Pattinson plays a young man in Belle Epoque-era Paris who uses his looks and smarts, along with a series of affairs with well-connected women, to make his way up the social ladder.
“We were really true to the book and because the guy is basically a shit who wins everything at the end it’s really difficult to market it – especially with me in it. Everyone’s worried that everyone’s going to be thinking, ‘Oh I want him to be nice, he’s got to be nice to all the ladies'” Pattinson tells Total Film.
Shooting on the project wrapped late last year and no release date has yet been locked. Pattinson's next film, the romantic fantasy "Water For Elephants", opens next month.
