Robert Pattinson Makes A Good-Looking Grown-Up In Entertainment Weekly

Robert Pattinson Makes A Good-Looking Grown-Up In Entertainment Weekly

Even if the Mayan-predicted End Of The World doesn't come to pass in 2012, there's definitely going to be a doomsday event here in Crushtown...referring, of course, to that moment when Robert Pattinson hangs up the body glitter, bids goodbye to Forks and officially moves on from the sexy-sparkly vampire role that made his career.

DEVASTATION!

But before you rock yourself to sleep clutching an Edward Cullen body pillow and sobbing for the inevitable end of "Twilight" and the loss of Rob's Tiger Beat heyday, you might want to take a gander at this week's Entertainment Weekly cover—a cover which, with its focus on the upcoming period romance "Water for Elephants," gives us a preview of what the RPattz of the Future might look like.

And ladies, the future looks good. Particularly with some three-day beard scruff and a well-tailored suit.
Looking ruggedly handsome alongside co-star Reese Witherspoon, Rob is clearly poised to make the transition from tween crush object to adult megahottie—although the accompanying interview shows that he hasn't lost the self-deprecating, boyish charm that makes him so convincing as an undead perma-teen. We especially like his admission that he doesn't really know what he's doing ("Generally, what I think is cool is what everyone else hates.")—and while we're all wondering what sort of projects he'll turn to in the coming years, it turns out that for now, his most important plan for the future involves the creative destruction of the vampire contact lenses he wears for his role in the "Twilight" films.
