Robert Pattinson Expresses Interest In 'Akira' But Denies Casting In Today's Dailies
Robert Pattinson. "Akira." Two very different worlds quite possibly colliding.
When MTV News recently sat down with RPattz, we brought up the subject of the "Akira" movie, a project that he's currently rumored for alongside a shortlist of other young hot actors like Andrew Garfield. But while he says he "love[s] the movie," he's only seen the reports that you have.
"I mean, I don’t know. I’ve seen the same thing as anybody else has, really," Pattison told MTV. Still, despite no concrete attachment to the project, the actor digs its style. "I mean, I like motorbikes," he said with a laugh.
After the jump check out the rest of today's news, including the new release date for "Monsters University," Sean Hayes being cast in "The Three Stooges" movie, Lindsay Lohan's latest offer, and why Mark Wahlberg may take the "Bait and Switch."
"Monsters Unversity": Class of 2013
Kitty? Sadly, if you're like us and have been waiting for the return of Mike and Sulley, you're going to have to wait a little longer. According to The Hollywood Reporter, "Monsters University," the sequel to Disney/Pixar's delightful "Monsters Inc" has been pushed back from Nov. 2, 2012 to June 21, 2013. Instead, Disney's "Reboot Ralph" will now be bumped up to 2012. And hey, at least we've still got "Cars 2" this summer, right?

Sean Hayes Is A Stooge
We're not nyuckin' around here: "Will and Grace" star Sean Hayes has been cast to play the iconic Larry Fine for 20th Century Fox’s long-awaited "Three Stooges" movie. THR reports that Hayes will join Will Sasso (a near-perfect incarnation of Curly Howard, no?) in the Farrelly Brothers project, which is not a biopic of the comedy legends, rather, "half-hour vignettes." While Benicio del Toro was one of the first names pegged to the role of Moe, the search for which actor will fill that part continues.

Lindsay Lohan Gets An Offer She Can't Refuse?
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, photographer Tyler Shields revealed that troubled starlet Lindsay Lohan is in talks to appear as actress Sharon Tate in "Eyes of a Dreamer." The movie, which would revolve around Tate's murderer, Charles Manson, has apparently been on Lohan's radar for sometime and has expressed interest. Shields says Lohan, who was already let go from one biopic (remember the Linda Lovelace/"Inferno" biopic?) is his ideal choice for the role and hopes her upcoming trial doesn't interfere (he plans to start filming this year.)

A Wahlberg "Bait And Switch"
Mark Wahlberg certainly showed his comedic chops off in 2010's "The Other Guys," and now the Oscar-nominated actor may get to show off his funny side again for another action comedy called "Bait and Switch." According to Variety, Wahlberg has signed on to produce, and may also star in, the flick from Universal. In the meantime, Wahlberg will be working on his sequel to "The Fighter," as well as the comedy "Ted" with Mila Kunis.
