What we're saying : 100 Monkeys is a funk band from Los Angeles. Let’s just get this out in the open really quickly, because the initial news I have about this band shouldn’t detract from this statement -- This band is guh-roooovy. Now, for swoon-induced rage that you ladies will fall into? Well, one of its members is Jackson Rathbone, better known as Jasper in the Twilight Saga movie series. Go ahead and get your screams out so we can get back to the reason for this column, and that’s music, so when I say funk, you say soul. Funk! Eh? Eh? Anyone? Well, it was worth a try. For now, you can get a taste of both on this track from 100 Monkeys. And those keys? Well, I just love them. And they add a whole 70s vibe to this already kickin’ song. Check the band out at Bogart’s on June 28.
