Monkeys are on the loose: 100 Monkeys in Indianapolis next Wednesday

Next Wednesday on June 29th, the town of Indianapolis will be taken over by 100 Monkeys, they will be let loose and they will ROCK YOUR WORLD, in one of my favorite venues in Indianapolis The Egyptian Room at the Old National Centre.

100 Monkeys is a talented band known for their unconventional methods. Throughout their set, they alternate stage performers and instruments. Their show is guaranteed to make you smile and bring music to life through humor, as well as sound.

The bands emerged from the rapture in the year 2008, and took the world by storm. Their first single “Ugly Girl,” gained the band recognition and brought in fans. Their first album Grape, did fairly well and got the band noticed by various publications. Through touring the 100 Monkeys have spread across the country, gaining a cult following unlike most. The band for this current tour, that they are setting out on, has set up host hotels for people who want to win a chance to meet and party with the slew of Monkeys. All in anticipation of their new album, the album that drops the day before the band graces the stage at The Murat in Indianapolis.

The album Liquid Zoo, has been the long awaited studio album that fans have been waiting for. Bringing the boys in 100 Monkey, recognition from Spin Magazine, MTV and Rolling Stone.

From the Press Release: 100 Monkeys is a band described by SPIN.com as “funk rock” and by RollingStone.com as “tribal sounds with vocals recalling Jim Morrison’s baritone croon.” Beyond Race Magazine says they are “sing-along-worthy, sometimes bluesy” and MTV.com describes the band as a mix of “Iggy Pop with the Raconteurs.”

With the album dropping the day before the event in Indianapolis, you can only imagine just how wild these Monkeys are going to be. The band will even be doing a signing at one of the local Best Buy’s, check back later for which location.

Yes Yes, the guy all the way to the right is Jasper from Twilight, but what the world didn’t know about Jackson Rathbone, was his love of Jamming. Longtime friend Ben Graupner and Rathbone lived together while pursuing their acting career, for fun they would jam, slowly they formed 100 Monkeys….before Twilight ever began.

I will have the full interview with Ben Graupner and the full band for you soon, be sure to check back for it!

The host hotel for Indianapolis is the Sheraton for more information check here.
