100 Monkeys among the Top 5 Concerts of the Coming Week in Lehigh Valley

100monkeys2 As celebrity-led rock bands go, actor Jackson Rathbone’s outfit 100 Monkeys is better than most.

At a show at Allentown’s Crocodile Rock Café 15 months ago, the quirky, experimental rock-and-blues band Rathbone formed with fellow actors Ben Graupner, Ben Johnson and Jerad Anderson played 20 songs in a 105-minute show — mostly surf-rock, with a little R&B thrown in for good measure.

They were, by turns, hotly tight (“Wicked World”) and very loose, as if thrown together (“Wing’s on Fire”) but still good, and sometimes very good.

But the biggest attraction for a 100 Monkeys show is that for less than the cost of a movie ticket, you see a star of the “Twilight” films in a stage show.
