Warner Bros. 'Aim High' Social Series Debuts On Facebook October 18th

Warner Bros. 'Aim High' Social Series Debuts On Facebook October 18th

We were pretty excited when Warner Bros. first announced they’d be dishing out digital movie rentals on Facebook, and when we found out The Dark Knight would the first offering… can you say nerdgasm? Now Warner Bros., along with Dolphin Entertainment, is creating a whole new form of digital entertainment -- a “social series” in which Facebook users can become part of the show.

The new series, dubbed Aim High, will follow the adventures of a student by day, action hero by night. The whole social aspect comes in when viewers watching the show through Facebook submit their profile -- status updates, photos, etc. The show will be customized to each person watching the show.

For instance, you may notice your name on a billboard in the background in one scene and your face on a poster in the next. Facebook users who watch the show through the personalized viewer will also be able to share comments and post Tweets about their favorite scenes as they air.
“Facebook is an increasingly influential destination for discovering and acquiring movie and television content,” said Thomas Gewecke, President of Warner Bros. Digital Distribution.
“This effort takes video distribution to a whole new level by making the actual viewing experience personal and social in a truly innovative and entertaining way.”
“The ability for fans to become part of a production by simply watching a show is truly revolutionary,” said McG, Producer of “Aim High.”  “I’m delighted that Aim High is the first to embrace this technology and I’m looking forward to including this in future productions.”
Aim High stars Jackson Rathbone (Twilight), Aimee Teegarden (Friday Night Lights), and Greg Germann (Ally McBeal) will debut on October 18 through Facebook and Cambio.com.
