Jackson Rathbone: 5 Things About the Other Vampire from 'Breaking Dawn'

It's that time of year. No I don't mean the start of the winter season or even the beginning of the holiday shopping season. It's time for the new "The Twilight Saga" movie!

For the past four years, the start of November chronicles the start of the marketing push for whichever new "Twilight" movie is set to be released. This year it is "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn (Part 1)" that is scheduled to be released on November 16, 2011.

Many of the film's stars have been making the press rounds in support of the film. We've heard oodles about Rob Pattinson and Kristen Stewart. Taylor Lautner will be spotted on the cover of some magazine without a shirt. Kellan Lutz and Ashley Greene will be making the talk show rounds. One of the few stars we haven't heard a whole lot about is Jackson Rathbone, the actor who plays Jasper Hale, in the series of "Twilight" films.

Here's what we know about Jackson Rathbone, the actor who plays Edward's adopted brother:

Worldly Guy: Due to his father's job at Mobile Oil, Jackson was born in Singapore. Throughout his childhood, Rathbone and his family would go on to live in places around the globe from Midland, Texas to Indonesia. His family would ultimately settle in Midland.

Civil War Roots: His family is distantly related to Stonewall Jackson. He doesn't give many details about the relationship other than to say that he is "distantly" related to the Confederate General.

Disney Channel: Long before he was a vampire, Jackson was a Disney kid. He appeared as part of the cast of "Disney 411" where he interviewed many of the channel's teen stars. His stay on the teen oriented channel was brief lasting only one year.

Musician: In addition to acting, Rathbone spends much of his time writing, singing and producing music. He performs in a band called "100 Monkeys". He revealed that the band's name comes was inspired by his science class saying, "I remember studying that if 100 of any species, like monkeys for example, learns and understands a theory, it spreads to the rest of the species."

Vampire: Since 2008, Jackson has played the role of Jasper Hale, the adoptive brother of Edward, in "The Twilight Saga" films. His character was turned into a vampire during the Civil War. Due to his military experience, Jasper was given the task of training newly turned vampires how to fight.
