Nikki Reed and Jackson Rathbone: “Nobody cried at the end of ''Breaking Dawn''”

Nikki Reed and Jackson Rathbone: “Nobody cried at the end of ''Breaking Dawn''”

Rosalie and Jasper, Kristen Stewart’s most distant brothers in Twilight, got to answer our questions.

It’s been 3 years and 5 movies filmed, and we still haven’t seen the wedding and the honeymoon. We’re talking about The Twilight Saga, more specifically about Breaking Dawn, the last movie. Though we’re not watching it, which premieres in Spain in November 18, we got to talk to 2 of its stars: Nikki Reed and Jackson Rathbone, who are in Madrid for a fan event. You can identify them as Jasper and Rosalie Hale, Bella’s 2 most distant brothers and the most relutant in accepting the human girl into the Cullen clan. Though, what happens in Stephenie Meyer’s series, their serious phosphorescent visages hide a much sweeter inner.

The first question is inevitable: how have your lives (personal and professional) changed since Twilight? “Personally, nothing changed”, says Rathbone, “but it’s opened much doors in the movies and the fans are amazing.” Reed, however, recognizes that Twilight has given her much happiness in intimate level, and one of them is working with her best friend Kristen Stewart: “It’s brought me wonderful things. I started with few money, working with Katherine (Hardwicke, director of the first movie), pero ahora but now I have money, I can take my family on vacation and I bought a house. It’s definitely brought me stability.

It’s public that Jackson and Nikki are friends, but (as happens to good friends) have some different opinions. We can prove that by their answer to our next question: how was the ending of Breaking Dawn filming? According to Rathbone, it was a moment to relief: “We finished filming at 3 AM, and actually it was a very beautiful moment. We were closing 3 years of our lives. We looked at each other and though ‘well, it’s over.’ And then we got a few member of the casting together, started talking, went out for a drink and left at dawn. It couldn’t have been better.”

Nikki, however, saw it in a different way: “Actors are used to do things and soon leave them. Maybe within a year we’ll think ‘well, it’s time for us to get together again’, but there’s no beautiful history with tears and stuff.”Similar declarations as her friend Stewart: “Actually, we knew we would see each other again soon. Right now, I’m travelling with Jackson to promote the movie and I’ll reunite with the others fo the premiere.”

Nikki Reed and Jackson Rathbone will work together again soon. He has a band called 100 Monkeys, with which he’s never stopped recording and touring (“It’s a big experience getting out of 12 or 14 hours of filming to go to the studio for more 6 or 8″, he says, but “I love art”) and Reed, who’s also a director, will soon make a videoclip for the band: “With this crazy agenda it’s difficult to fit it, but travelling together we’ve talked a lot about it. It won’t be so much of a musical clip as a short with music.”

And wouldn’t Nikki like to direct a movie with Kristen? “Of course I would, she’s an amazing actress. We’ve talked a lot about producing, acting or directing together in the future, and I am sure it will happen. Kristen is very creative and so am I..sometimes.”
