"Bel Ami" Review by The Sun (UK)
ROBERT Pattinson will still make pulses race despite taking on a non-vampire role.
He plays Georges Duroy, who returns from the army and finds himself broke in late 19th Century Paris.
Luckily, he bumps into an old buddy who offers him a job at the newspaper he edits.
Cad Georges is soon courting the attention of the wives and girlfriends of all of his high-flying friends.
He manipulates, cheats, lies and cons his way through high society.
But despite a strong cast, Bel Ami fails to make a lasting impression – other than to leave you wondering if you've been watching a costume drama or a comic farce.
RATING: TWO OUT OF FIVE
