Robert Pattinson Has Lots of Sex in Cronenberg's Future-Set 'Cosmopolis' Teaser
A French teaser for David Cronenberg's "Cosmopolis" looks like the love child of "Shame" and "Scarface."
While Cronenberg's "A Dangerous Method" was about S & M and psychoanalysis, the talky drama was fairly tame in the sex and violence department. This teaser suggests that "Cosmopolis" marks the Canadian's return to his darker, nastier ways in this near future-set thriller based on Don DeLillo's novel.
Post-"Twilight Saga," Rob Pattinson plays a grownup in the role of Wall Street tycoon Eric Packer. We spend 24 hours with him as he travels New York (actually Toronto) by limo, growing increasingly paranoid that his world is crumbling.
"Cosmopolis" is tipped to debut at Cannes this May. Pattinson is joined by an eclectic international ensemble: Sarah Gadon, Juliette Binoche, Mathieu Amalric, Jay Baruchel, Samantha Morton, Kevin Durand and Paul Giamatti. In TOH's Q & A with Cronenberg last November, he said of "Cosmopolis": "This is me doing Woody Allen—one movie a year, except he's done it for 30 years and I've only done it for two years..."
