Kristen in "Julia" Magazine
Translation
Kristen is looking happy when Julia meets her in Los Angeles. The Twilight star, who is currently on the screens with Snow White and the Huntsman, is wearing black sneakers, washed out black tight jeans, and a v-necked t-shirt. Her sunglasses are hanging from her neckline and she is holding a plastic waterbottle which she is fiddling with throughout the interview.
J: Your new film is an action-packed, modern version of the classic fairytale Snow White. Did you like Disney's animated version of Snow White when you were little?
K: Yeah, I liked it but my favorite film when I was little was The Jungle Book.
J: There are a lot of people who think that your life is a fairytale, how do you feel about that?
K: It's weird to talk about my life in that way, but of course, everything that's happening around me is totally amazing! I sort of can't imagine that this is all happening to me and in that sense it's like a real life fairytale! But on the other hand no fairytale is perfect and I don't know what the future will bring. Haha.
J: Has fame been worth all sacrifices?
K: Yes, definitely, it's been worth all sacrifices for sure. But naturally I sometimes wish I could do something as basic as going to the market and buy soap like regular people.
J: Do you believe in Prince Charming?
K: I don't really know what to think of that, but I suppose it depends on who you are and what kind of life you lead, for a lot of people there is a Mr Right. But then again there are no set rules of what is right or wrong or how things should be, life would be a lot easier if that was the case!
J: Do you think it's possible to live happily ever after, just like in the fairytales?
K: Yeah, it could probably be like that, the girl who gets to experience that is a lucky girl! A lot of people need and strive to find the right one, and if that doesn't happen their life would like be less meaningful or something. Oh, come on! Haha. I really don't know...
J: How should a best friend and a boyfriend be?
K: Honesty! That is something very beautiful and to be able to show honesty in a genuine way, like when you can really see it in someone's eyes.
J: Are you worried about the way media describe you?
K: Naturally I'm worried that journalists will write things that aren't true or that they've twisted something that actually happened or something I said, I don't want to upset anyone. I have pretty good people skills so I'm usually very clear with what I say so there'll be no misunderstandings.
J: Snow White had a great mom as a role model, tell me a little about your own mother!
K: My mom has always given me a lot of affirmation, encouragement, and support. That is something I'm incredibly grateful for. I have friends who doesn't have a close and good relationship with their parents and it affects them a lot which is sad to me. So I'm very fortunate.
J: In your new film you're up against one of your favorites, Charlize Theron, how was that?
K: I was really nervous when I met her the first time and I felt uncomfortable around her. She is an amazing actress and I have huge respect for her. Charlize was one of the main reasons I wanted to do this movie. It was incredibly cool and a total wow-experience to meet her, she is absolutely crazy, and I mean that in a cool way. She is also very funny and witty and she demands quite a lot of attention from the people around her. But when she enters a room something happens and you cannot not look at her.
J: How does it feel to be an idol for so many people?
K: I have experienced that on both sides and I have my own idols whom I've had the opportunity to meet. It's superweird when they're standing right in front of you. Sometimes I've been disappointed when they haven't lived up to my expectations. Other times it's been the other way around. So I can understand how my fans are feeling. When you read about your idols they're being described in a flattering way and you form your own opinion of them which can be really wrong once you meet them in real life.
