People’s Choice Awards: best and worst moments

People’s Choice Awards: best and worst moments

Biggest Upset:
The night was supposed to belong to Twilight: Eclipse, which led the way with eight nominations. It managed to win the big award of the night (Favourite Movie) but Johnny Depp beat Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner in the Favourite Movie Actor category while, even more surprising, Zac Efron beat out Pattinson and Kristen Stewart to win the Favourite Movie Star Under 25 award. We guess the “people” don’t care that Efron hasn’t managed to have a box office hit since the High School Musical franchise.

Best Speech:
Is Kristen Stewart finally getting used to the spotlight? While accepting the trophy for Favourite Movie Actress, the Twilight star managed not to trip (thanks in part to co-star Taylor Lautner, who help her navigate the stairs in heels), stumble, drop her trophy or stutter. She even managed to get fans squealing by mentioning Breaking Dawn, which is currently shooting in Louisiana. "It’s always surreal to be in places like this,” giggled Stewart. “I was (playing) a vampire this morning in Baton Rouge, so it’s really weird." We’re officially proud!
